All positions will have elections this fall for 2024 positions. The current 2023 officers are Benjamin York (President), Ned Kruger (Vice President), and Chris Maike (Secretary-Treasurer). 2024 elections will be held at the annual Society picnic this fall (likely September).

The North Dakota Geological Society unanimously voted to establish, and host, the Julie A. LeFever Memorial Scholarship Endowment, through the University of North Dakota, in memory of all the work Julie did for the State and in the Williston Basin. The Society will fund an initial deposit into the endowment, and contributions for the public are welcome. More information will be posted about how to donate once the endowment is finalized through UND.

The North Dakota Geological Society was the official host of the 2023 Rocky Mountain Section Annual Meeting. The meeting was held in Bismarck and had over 200 attendees. As host, the Society received 40% of the net meeting profits, which totaled a little over $12,000. At least $10,000 will be the seed money for the Julie A. LeFever Memorial Scholarship Endowment through University of North Dakota.
